Newsletter Term 3, Week 8

Lambs – Help Needed
As we approach the holidays we are seeking families to come and look after the lambs during the holidays. By then they will be off bottles and involvement will be; letting them out of their house in the morning, taking them for a walk, feeding them lucerne and pellets, locking them up at night!
If this is something you are able to do please email – availability, preference of days, contact number and a roster will be emailed to you closer to the date!

Election Cake Stall
To keep financial in feeding our lambs we are hosting a cake stall for the upcoming election, 9th September. Plates for cake donations were sent home last week. If you need a replacement or would like a cake/ slice box please see the school office. If you are available to come and help out on the stall please follow the link below to sign up for an hour or two! www.SignUpGenius.com/go/5080E44AFA92CA1F85-election

Support Needed!
As we move through the year we are faced with losing some very important members of the Eco Garden Committee as their youngest children move onto High School. Involvement with the Eco garden requires a team effort, and input can vary dependant on your personal time. The main activities and events are overseen and liaised by school staff. The three main areas where help is required:

Animals – purchasing stock feed or arranging for it to be purchased, assistance with cleaning out their house, water bowl/ trough, restocking their straw/ sawdust to make their homes comfy. All of these jobs can be done outside of school hours or on weekends.
Gardens- watering them as required, purchasing or organising to be purchased new vegies for planting, assisting the classes with planting and harvesting when required. Again these jobs can be done outside of school hours or a quick water just before/after pick up and drop off on a regular basis works too!

Cooking- Using and cooking the harvested produce from the gardens is a key element of their purpose. Cooking is always assisted by parents from the classes cooking and also the class teacher. Involvement with cooking requires liaising with class teachers, organising extra needed ingredients, being available to do cooking as needed. This role is mostly during school hours but can be arranged around your schedule.

Eco Garden has a committee who meet once a month in the school Staffroom to discuss integration of the garden area into school activities, maintenance and upkeep of the area, animals and also fundraising required to support the gardens. Attendance at meetings is not a compulsory requirement and minutes can be emailed to keep you updated. If any of these roles feel like something you are interested in or would like to take on either
contact Briony Scanlan or call the school office to arrange a meeting or complete the form below and return to your child’s class teacher. We would love to see the gardens and animals remain a key part of our school but greater help and support is needed!
