Potato rösti recipe



Potato rösti

4 potato medium
Herbs chopped
1 egg
1/4 cup plain flour
1tbs caramelised onions from jar optional
2 tbs cream cheese/quark optional
1 pinch salt and pepper
2 tbs oil

  • For the rösti, grate the potatoes coarsely into a clean tea towel. Fold the towel around the potato to form a ball and squeeze to remove as much moisture as possible.  
  • Stir in the egg, flour, quark, herbs, onions and seasoning. 
  • Mix to combine to a soft, moist mixture.  
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium to high heat, Drop in large tablespoons of mixture and cook for 5-10 minutes until crispy on the outside and cooked all the way through.
