Mr Green the gecko says...

“Just have a go!”

One thing I have learnt about gardening is that each garden is its own unique little place, an eco system in miniature. I seem to try things that work for other people but in my garden have no luck. On the other hand, things that don’t work in other gardens work so well in mine. So, plant away and don’t be afraid to move things around, dig things up and get rid of the ones that aren’t
working. That is all part of the fun of learning all about your garden.

MEETING TONIGHT
Our monthly meeting will be held in the Library tonight from 7pm. All welcome.

THANKS COLES HORNSBY!
I neglected to mention the wonderful help we received from Coles Hornsby recently. The store donated a $50 gift voucher which was enough to purchase all our bread for the Bunnings BBQ, helping us inch our profit up! Thanks again Cathy for helping us out. Please support your local supermarket!

RAFFLE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE
It’s the last days of our wonderful Father’s Day Raffle, so be quick if you want a chance at winning some great prizes. Tickets will be sold before pick-up on Thursday and Friday. Update on Caramello As you are probably aware young Caramello has been suffering an affliction for some time. Unfortunately the medication we have tried has done nothing to stop her “runny
bum” issue. She is still happy though, running around the Morle back garden. We are discussing what to do next.

Thank you to Rentachook!

Special thanks to Rentachook for supplying the chooks at the school.  If you have ever thought about what it might be like to keep chooks yourself, Rentachook has a funny and very readable website at www.rentachook.com.au

Mr Green the gecko says...

“Feeding chooks is easy!”

Chickens only need a few things to be healthy and happy. Fresh water daily, some chicken feed (which can be bought from some pet shops and all stockfood suppliers) which contains all the essential vitamins and minerals they need and they love food scraps. Our school chickens gobble up pasta, bread, porridge, carrot and apple. They don’t like broccoli though! The grains in the chicken feed help them digest their food. They would not be able to without the grit.

THE GIRLS ARE BACK

Well, two of them. Please welcome Chickpea and Snowdrop back to school after their holiday at the Morles. Aren’t they lucky coming back to a five-star abode! It looks absolutely dapper everyone. Young Caramello continues to be a bit sickly so we are taking veterinary advice and giving her some medication this week. Fingers crossed she can come back to school soon.
